Document ID: c03871499 Notice: HP ProLiant Servers: HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i and B320i Controllers - Driver Support and Configuration NOTICE: The information in this document, including products and software versions, is current as of the Release Date. This document is subject to change without notice. Last Updated: 2013-07-25 DESCRIPTIONHP Dynamic Smart Array B120i and B320i Controllers configured in HP servers require a proprietary HP device driver. HP recommends using the HP B120i/B320i driver because it provides disk drive compatibility with other Smart Array controllers, enables the use of familiar HP configuration, monitoring, and management software, and enables upgrading directly to a traditional Smart Array Controller if desired. Servers may also be configured to disable the Dynamic Smart Array Controller functionality and use non-RAID AHCI mode instead. Note: Information regarding driver support for HP B120i/B320i controllers under Linux and VMware is available in the following advisory: HP ProLiant Gen8 Servers - The HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i and B320i Controller Driver for Linux and VMware (hpvsa) Must Be Downloaded from HP.COM in Order to Use RAID Functionality DETAILSHP provides the proprietary Dynamic Smart Array Controller driver for the following operating systems:
